PORT UNION G Road Test Route 1 Map
📍 Toronto Port Union, Ontario
Route Overview
Our G test routes are updated using real examiner feedback from DriveTest centres across Ontario. Passing your full G test demonstrates confident driving in urban and rural highway environments, with a focus on advanced decision-making, speed integration, and traffic flow rather than low-speed parking maneuvers. What the Examiner Tests: Highway & Rural Driving: You will be graded on your ability to safely accelerate on-ramps to highway speeds (95–105 km/h) or rural highway speeds (70–80 km/h), match traffic flow, change lanes smoothly, and navigate successfully.Observation: Check your mirrors every 5 to 10 seconds with deliberate head movements, and always shoulder check before initiating a lane change or turn.Speed Control: Maintain a pace right at or near the posted limit. Driving too slowly without valid reason or speeding can cause an immediate failure.Following Distance: Maintain a safe 2- to 3-second buffer between your car and the vehicle ahead.Intersections: Scan for hazards, come to a complete stop at all red lights and stop signs, and always yield to pedestrians.Pro Tips to Pass: Exaggerate Head Movements: Examiners look for visible confirmation. Turn your chin toward the side window during blind-spot checks so they clearly see you looking. Master the Lane Change Sequence: Always follow the critical order: Mirror $\rightarrow$ Signal $\rightarrow$ Blind Spot $\rightarrow$ Move.Complete Your Declaration: Sign your pre-test declaration confirming you have driven on highways (80 km/h or more) at least 5 times in the past 3 months.
